A Life of love is to be celebrated and never mourned. Such life began when Willie Lee Sallie was born Friday, June 16, 1961, to the late Willie Lee Sr and Rosa Sallie In Coahoma Mississippi. Willie and his family relocated to Benton Harbor, MI in the mid-’60s. He attended Benton Harbor Area Schools and was a member of the class of 1979.
Willie accepted Christ at an early age. He was baptized in 2012 at Bread of Life Church under the leadership of Rev. Robert Defrance. On August 17, 1990, Willie married the love of his life, Felicia Meeks. To this union, four children were born: Kenny, Willie III, Darius, and Zaria. Willie worked at various jobs in the Benton Harbor/St Joseph area-Dave’s Fruit Haven and Atlantic Automotive to name a few.
Willie was a jokester and was always laughing. He loved playing cards, dominoes, shooting pool and spending time with his family and friends.
On Saturday, January 25, 2020, Willie took his Saviors hand and was reunited with loved ones who proceeded him in death; his parents~ Willie and Rosa Sallie and his sister, Fannie Washington.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his wife, Felicia Sallie; children~ Kenny Meeks, Willie (Shanice) Sallie, Darius Sallie and Zaria Sallie; sisters~ Rosie Washington, Dorothy Sallie, Doris Sallie and Tanga (NL Hines); Mother in law~ Lee Meeks, sister in law Deborah Meeks and brother in law Seth Meeks; 11 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
