Washington Green Jr. was born on August 20, 1941, in Abbeville, Louisiana, to Washington Green (his father) and Blanch Green (his mother). Washington departed this life on March 17, 2026.
A quiet, humble-spirited man of deep faith, he lived a life rooted in integrity, devotion, and love for his family and his God.
Washington was a Christian man who feared God and treasured his Bible above all earthly possessions. His faith was not merely spoken — it was lived, quietly and consistently, in every aspect of his life. He was a widower of his beloved wife, Emma Jean Green, whose memory he carried with him always.
He dedicated years of faithful service to the Bendix Corporation, from which he proudly retired. In his later years, he received care at Pine Ridge Rehab Center, where those around him witnessed the same gentle, humble spirit that had defined his entire life.
He Leaves Behind
Washington is survived by his cherished daughters: Daretha M. Braziel (age 48), Lisa Ann Braziel (age 46), and Rachel Lynn Green (age 45). His eldest daughter, the beloved Annie Blanch Green, preceded him in death on March 14, 2023, and no doubt welcomed him home with open arms.
He is also survived by his beloved sons, Anthony J. Green and Washington Green Jr.; his devoted step-sons, Alfred Braziel and Eric Johnson; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the joy and delight of his heart.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7
