Warren York Jr. Obituary

Warren York, Jr. (Buck) was born January 15, 1949, the fourth child to the late Mr. Warren York, Sr. and Mrs. Jessie Lee York in Yorktown, Arkansas. Warren departed this life on May 31, 2024 at home surrounded by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his aforementioned parents, a sister Mrs. Martha Robinson, and two brothers Mr. Cleveland Wade and Mr. William Henry York.

Warren graduated from Kennedy High School in Grady, Arkansas on May 19, 1968. He was united in holy matrimony to Jolene Fuller and moved to Benton Harbor, Michigan. To this union three (3) sons were born, Warren York III (Chermeka) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Anthony York of Benton Harbor, Michigan and Reggie York of Coloma, Michigan. He is also the father of one daughter Brittany York of Clarksville, Tennessee.

Warren confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined the Polk Chapel M. B. Church of Yorktown, Arkansas under the leadership of Rev. Mitchell Gaston. After moving to Benton Harbor, Michigan, he became a member of Hopewell M. B. Church where he was ordained a deacon of the church. Warren later became a member of Latter Day Worship Church under the leadership of Pastor Bryan Williams and remained a faithful member until his health began to fail. Warren loved hunting, fishing and was a great gardener. He loved to grow vegetables, even though he lived most of his life in the city, he was still a country boy at heart. Warren also owned and managed several businesses in Yorktown, Arkansas and Benton Harbor, Michigan. He worked many years at Auto Specialty of Benton Harbor until the company went out of business and that is when he began his entrepreneurship and small business.

He leaves to cherish his memory three sons Warren, Anthony and Reggie, one daughter Brittany. Two brothers James Walter York (Barbara) of Berrien Springs, Michigan and Phillp York of Pine Bluff Arkansas. Five sisters Susie Yancy of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Ida Hester, Orie Montgomery and Mary Jackson all of Yorktown, Arkansas and Agnes Olatumbos (Lasom) of Freeport, Illinois. He is cherished and adored by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Special nephews Rev. Royce Jackson Jr., Derrick York, Leonard York, James York and Earnest Hester, II. We want to mention two special caregivers Linda Gipson and Annette Sanders. Also two very special friends Bernadine Lopez, and Robert (Bobbie) Lee. Warren will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him
