Veronica "Ann" Sanders was born into time on September 17, 1958, at Mercy Hospital in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late Mary Lee (“Baby M”) Coleman and Louis James Coleman. She departed this life surrounded by her loving family on January 12, 2021.
Ann attended Benton Harbor Area Schools and graduated from Benton Harbor High School Class of 1976. While in school, she participated in track & field and basketball where she earned a Varsity letter. In 1977, Ann was united in holy matrimony to Alfred Turence Sanders and to this union two children were born.
She was quiet and humble, but still managed to develop great relationships with many in and around the Benton Harbor area. Her home and heart remained opened to anyone in need evidenced by the many people who have fond memories of time spent on Pearl Street. Ann also maintained great relationships with her co-workers at First Student transportation services where she worked for more than 26 years. She also enjoyed volunteering with Sisters from Another Mother.
Ann accepted the Lord as her savior and was baptized on April 24, 2011 at New Bethel Baptist Church by Reverend Milton P. McAfee.
Ann leaves to mourn her loss significant other Alvin Favorite; one son: Christopher (Kasha) Sanders of Benton Harbor, Michigan; two daughters: Quintina (Floyd) Erby of Aberdeen, Maryland and Rashea (Andre) Curry of Memphis, Tennessee. Eight (8) grandchildren: Katina Brown, Christopher Sanders Jr., Keon Sanders, Miyah Erby, Janaria Hegar, Kimora Simmons, LeeMarion Curry and Aniyah Holmes. Four (4) siblings: Beverly Coleman-Kelly of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Ronald Coleman of Toledo, Ohio, Tony Coleman of Poconos, Pennsylvania and Eulie Coleman of Plainfield, New Jersey. Ten (10) nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Maximilian Coleman of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Veronica “Ann” Sanders was preceded in death by her brother Louis J. Coleman, her mother Mary Lee "Baby M" Coleman and her late husband Alfred Turence Sanders.
