Venus Renee (Lisa) Davis 53, transitioned with her son Juan by her side to her eternal home at Select Specialty Regency Hospital, Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Friday, April 16, 2021.
Born February 25, 1968, to Leroy Gantt and Arildell Boatner in Benton Harbor, Michigan, they welcomed a beautiful, baby girl, and named her Venus Renee. We aren’t sure if the parents knew that her name meant “truth; born again; rebirth.”
At the time of Lisa’s birth, there were already six (6) older siblings ready along with their mother to provide nurturing, love, and showing Lisa the household rules. Lisa loved her family, and often expressed she did, every time she spoke to one of them.
Venus worked at Grandville Printing Company respectfully for many years. In her past time, she enjoyed reading mystery books and listening to music.
Lisa attended Benton Harbor Area Schools, where she received her education. She continued her education by attending Grand Rapids Community College, with studies in communications.
Lisa was a very sociable individual. She always exhibited an exuberant, compassionate spirit; she always extended love…not only with her family but with her friends. In her latter years of life, Lisa accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Lisa’s memory will live forever in the hearts of her children: (2) two sons, Juan Jones, and Nicholas Alexander Nesbitt, of Grand Rapids MI; (5) five brothers: Archie (Erma) Davis Jr., Keith Allen Davis, Rodney Ray Davis, Joseph (Kiesha) Boatner of Benton Harbor, MI; Glenn (Bettie) Davis, of Houston, TX; (6) six sisters: Sandra Lynn Davis, Lori Ann Davis, Angelina Boatner of Benton Harbor, MI; Mavia Denise Davis of Kalamazoo, MI; Barbara (Shawn) Bolden, Angela Boatner of Indianapolis, IN; (2) two grandchildren, Jamiyah and A’nylah, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Venus was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy Gantt and Arildell Boatner.
Venus will be missed but will live on forever in our hearts.
