Vanessa Moore

Vanessa Moore was born January 23, 1955, in Benton Harbor, Mi to the union of Jessie Moore and Daisy (Norwood) Moore.

She departed this life on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Bronson Hospital, Battle Creek Mi. Vanessa Graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1973.  She worked in numerous factories in the Benton Harbor area before moving to Kalamazoo Mi in 1985 where she then worked for Alamo Nursing Home until her health failed her.

Vanessa was a member of Mt Zion Baptist Church, Kalamazoo, Mi under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Addis Moore. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She also enjoyed listening to Gospel music and watching Soap Operas.

Vanessa leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Shanna (James) Hill and Gina Moore; grandkids Anneatra McWilliams, Shawn Moore, Nejaya Moore, Kevin Kevon Moore and Jeffery Moore; great grandkids Adrian McWilliams, Jaden Channey and D’Angelo Moore; siblings Nancy Peek of Williamsburg Oh, Regina Moore of Benton Harbor Mi, Brenda Moore of Kalamazoo Mi and Jeannette Moore of Grand Rapids Mi; and Aunt Mattie Tate of West Memphis Tn.

Vanessa also leaves to cherish her memories are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.

Vanessa was preceded in death by her parents Jessie Moore and Daisy Moore, brother Anthony Moore, grandson Jhamiel Hill and nephew Derell Moore.
