Tula Thompson Obituary

Mrs. Tula Nadina Thompson is lovingly known to many as “Elect Lady” was born on January 6th, 1953. She was the oldest daughter of Luther Smith and Jettie Pearl Patton. She departed this life on February 23, 2023, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She attended Benton Harbor High School. She enjoyed Being a supportive wife to her husband and Mother to her Children and grandchildren, she was a mother to many she Loved children and teaching and helping others that were in need. She had a big heart, her hobbies was collecting coupons and being a bargain shopper, she loved shopping for herself and others. She loved her fashion, especially her hats, some of her favorite foods were bologna, Beef salami, Crackers, and Chicken, and dumplings.

Tula married her husband Minus Thompson, Sr. on November 21, 1970, and has been in union for the last fifty-three years, and they have six children whom she loved dearly.  Elect Lady was a strong woman, who Love the Lord and lead by example, a natural-born leader. She was loving and outspoken, she told it like it was out of love, she was Humble Observative Kind, and Beautiful.

Tula was the Elect Lady of Old Path Church of God, Benton Harbor, Michigan under the leadership of Apostle Minus Thompson Sr. her husband. Their ministry for God started in 1971 in a box truck and after years of dedication to the ministry, they continued to work out their soul salvation at two locations: the headquarters is located in Niles, Michigan, and one in Benton Harbor, Michigan.  

Tula was a compassionate person; she Love the ministry working beside her husband; her Children and grandchildren and great-grands were her pride and joy. Tula accepted Christ at the age of seventeen.

Tula leaves to cherish in her memories her husband Minus Thompson, Sr.  Four sons Timothy Connor, of Benton Harbor MI, Richard Patton of South Bend IN, Minus Thompson Jr of South Bend IN, Jermaine Thompson of Kalamazoo MI.  Three daughters Leola (Everett) Sims of South Bend IN, Monique Thompson of Cleveland Ohio, Takeya Thompson -Yates (Travis Yates.) of Indianapolis IN. 15 Grandchildren, Olivia Patton, Richard Patton Jr, Shamorie Patton, Carrie Thompson, John Dre Rolan, Everett Sims Jr, Shilo Sims, Jeffery Carter Jr., Tesha Carter, Ja’vonte Thompson,  Ja’cory Thompson, Jermany Thompson, Jeremiah Thompson, Tamia Yates, Takiah Yates, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Tula Leaves behind her Three Sisters; Faye Patton of Memphis TN, Debra (Elmore) Davis of Benton Harbor MI, Joanne (Patton) Rayford of Benton Harbor MI., Three brothers Donnie (Vicki) Patton of Benton Harbor MI, Larry (Joyce) Patton of Benton Harbor MI, Alfonzo Jackson of South Bend, IN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Tula Thompson was preceded in death by both Parents Luther Smith and Jettie Pearl Patton; A Brother Christopher Patton; and a Sister Theresa Patton.
