Romans 8:18
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Thomas Alvin Page Sr. affectionately called “Tom”, was born September 10,1950 to the union of Theodore and Ruby Page in Benton Harbor, MI.
Thomas was a proud graduate of Benton Harbor High School Class of 1968 and attended college at Eastern MI., in Ypsilanti, MI, where he met his former wife, Brenda Stovall (Billy). Thomas was a veteran and loved being a police officer where he served the Berrien County Sheriffs Department for over 20+ years. He also worked at Atlantic Automotive in Benton Harbor, MI.
Thomas was known only as a kind and mild-mannered man. He always had something funny to say followed by that infectious smile. And a long animated yet entertaining story which he would repeat often. We will miss those stories but will hold those memories close to our hearts.
Thomas took extreme pride in his children and grandchildren to whom he made sure to call everyday! The calls and loving conversations will be missed but never forgotten.
Thomas was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important — the simplicity of living a life with those you love.
Thomas went to be with our Lord on Tuesday February 9, 2021.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Theodore Page Jr, Debra Anne Page, Earl Page, Robert (Bobby) Page, and Theron (Teddy) Page and sister Katherine Clark.
He is survived by his two loving children, Thomas Page Jr. and Rosalynn (Omah) Shabazz. Siblings: Karen Cooks, Yvonne (Mike) Hayes and Larry (Stephanie) Page. His wonderful grandchildren: Thomas Page III, Isaiah Page, Mariah Page, Arianna Page, Konye’ French, Kaelin Hopson, Kayon Shabazz., Paige Shabazz and Jordan Shabazz.
Your Spirit – A Tribute to My Father
I know that no matter what
You will always be with me.
When life separates us
I’ll know it is only your soul
Saying goodbye to your body
But your spirit will be with me always.
When I see a bird chirping on a nearby branch
I will know it is you singing to me.
When a butterfly brushes gently by me so care freely
I will know it is you assuring me you are free from pain.
When the gentle fragrance of a flower catches my attention
I will know it is you reminding me
To appreciate the simple things in life.
When the sun shining through my window awakens me
I will feel the warmth of your love.
When I hear the rain pitter patter against my window sill
I will hear your words of wisdom
And will remember what you taught me so well
That without rain trees cannot grow
Without rain flowers cannot bloom
Without life’s challenges I cannot grow strong.
When I look out to the sea
I will think of your endless love for your family.
When I think of mountains, their majesty and magnificence
I will think of your courage for your country.
No matter where I am
Your spirit will be beside me
For I know that no matter what
You will always be with me.
