Thelmela Yvonne Booth, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, was known as “Nanny Pooh” to close family and friends and simply “Pooh” to many who knew and loved her. She was born on August 22, 1976, to Carolyn Booth and Lonnie “Rayford” Campbell at Mercy Hospital in Benton Harbor, MI. Pooh accepted Christ at a young age under the leadership of the late Rev. Emery M. Varrie I.
A proud 1996 Benton Harbor Tiger, Pooh dedicated over 30 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant, caring for others with compassion, patience, and dignity. Her work reflected her nurturing spirit and passion for helping others. You could always count on Pooh to be there for you.
Pooh’s heart provided a source of warmth, comfort, and unwavering love. Her presence brought joy and laughter until your sides hurt, and her smile was infectious. She enjoyed cooking, watching her favorite shows, and most of all bingo nights with mom. However, nothing was better than spending quality time with friends and family, especially her “Ganny babies.”
Pooh transitioned to be with the Lord on April 9, 2026, at 49 years old. She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Carolyn Booth; children Shantel Booth, Kyle Booth, Jaira Jones, Ellary Jones Jr., Serenity Jones, and Adajah Jones.; granddaughters Gianni James, Naomi Booth, and Ava Garrick; siblings John (Nicole) Whitfield, Tony Whitfield Sr., Melvin Booth, Ezra Shaw, DeLisa Pargo, Tracy Birmingham, and Samantha Thornton.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, father Lonnie Campbell; brother Mickey Booth; niece Tiara Whitfield; and her favorite cousin Tavena Cooper.
Pooh’s legacy of laughter and love will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.
