With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Teonnie L. Poole, who departed this life on May 15, 2026, at the age of 52.
Teonnie was born on June 4, 1973, at the former Mercy Hospital and was raised in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She was the beloved daughter of Rosemary Poole and carried a strong spirit, unwavering determination, and deep love for her family throughout her life.
Teonnie was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent 16 years working at a steel casting factory in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her strong work ethic, resilience, and commitment to providing for her family were admired by all who knew her.
A woman of faith, Teonnie loved the Lord and found joy in singing, dancing, and praising Him. She cherished spending quality time with her family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Her warm smile, loving heart, and caring nature touched countless lives.
Teonnie shared 14 loving years with her special friend, Lashawn Smith, whose companionship brought her much happiness and comfort.
Most of all, Teonnie was a loving and devoted mother. She leaves behind her four beloved children: daughters Clintara Rice and Tearra Rice, and sons Clinton Rice and Tion Rice. She also leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life and whom she loved dearly.
She leaves to cherish her memory her siblings: Charles Poole, Shamika Mason, Travis Hampton Poole, and Zachery Poole, along with her children, grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Teonnie was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Shirley Brand; grandfather, Luther Sikes; mother, Rosemary Poole; sisters, Melissa Poole and Joyce Poole; and brother, Rodney Poole.
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that Teonnie’s legacy of love, faith, strength, and devotion to family will never be forgotten. Her beautiful spirit will continue to shine through the many lives she touched.
A loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend, Teonnie’s memory will forever remain in our hearts.
