Stella Louise Johnson

Forever Loved and Forever Remembered, Stella Louise Johnson, 73, gracefully departed this life Thursday, May 22, 2025. Stella was born Tuesday, March 11, 1952, in Ridgely, Tennessee to Raymond, Sr and Lillie Bell Jordan. She was the second of their two children. After moving to Michigan as a young child, she attended and graduated from Benton Harbor Area Schools. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School with the Class of 1970.

Stella grew up in New Bethel Baptist Church and developed her passion for cooking and family early on as she spent a lot of time with her parents Lillie & Clarence Guidry and paternal grandmother lovingly known as, Mrs. Pat. Her loves of cooking, family gatherings, celebrating holidays, as well as growing plants and flowers became her trademark. Be it a weekend house gathering or a regular cleaning day, the house was always “ever so” and full of food, music, and love.

She was a beautiful soul, awesome mother, wonderful friend, and loving wife. Throughout the years her neighbors became extended family. She loved being a Granny and enjoyed watching them grow up. She was a kind and thoughtful lady, but she did not mince words. Always sassy and classy, that was our Wee Baby!

She leaves to cherish many memories her husband Victor Johson, one son Antowan (Sherri) Jordan of Niles, MI, two daughters Charlotte Moore of Coloma, MI and Tashama (Jerry) Brown of Benton Harbor, MI. Brothers Terry Guidry and Marvin (Cynthia) Guidry both of Benton Harbor, Adrian (Latonia) Guidry of Highpoint, NC and Raymond Davis of Minneapolis, MN. Sisters Diane Guidry of Little Rock, AR, Vanessa Guidry of Benton Harbor, MI, Patty Lynn Clark of Tiptonville, TN and Mary Price of Dyersburg, TN, four grandsons, seven granddaughter, three great-grandchildren. Uncle Profit (Arie) Guidry, Aunts Eirlen (William) Brown and Inez Burton Hester, a large family of in-laws, a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. And a special aunt and cousin Lenna Mae Longs and Betty Jean Phillips.

Stella is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence & Lillie Guidry and Raymond Jordan, Sr., Brothers Thomas Lee Hill and Raymond Jordan, Jr, and niece Terra Mona’ Phillips.
