Again, death has invaded the rank of the Phillips family, suddenly Shontae transition from earth into the Fathers arms on December 17, 2023. Shontea was loved by his family and affectionally called Tata by his Mother Joyce Ann and Lamar every now and then. Shontae Laprice Phillips was born on May 7,1976, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to the late Jerry Reynolds and Late Joyce Ann Phillips.
At an early age, Shontae accepted Christ as his Personal Savior and was baptized at the Union Memorial AME Church Benton harbor Michigan. He later moved to Georgia with his brother Lamar, where he re-dedicated his life to Christ as an adult and was baptized under the leadership of Bishop Fritz Musser Atlanta Georgia.
Shontae was formally educated in the Benton Harbor Area Schools. Also Finished the School of Ministry at TIC International Ministry in Atlanta GA. Shontae and his brother in Christ Marty also started a small business called Christian Brothers Maintenance that was very successful until he decided to move back up north.
Shontae decided to move to Indianapolis to start a new venture on his life journey, where he requited with some of his family and childhood friends. He was employed at the Amaco Bent Company Indianapolis, IN.
His favorite pastimes were spending time with his Fiancé Laura, and family and friends, also shopping, and going out to eat with Laura (China), watching sports especially Football, his favorite football team was The Raiders, and he loved to listen to good music as well.
Shontae will forever be remembered in the hearts, his bestfriend and fiancé Laura(China) Butler; (2) Sons, Shonta Phillips and Shontae Phillips; (3) grandchildren, Samora Phillips, Denver Phillips, and Da’shawn Jones (4 )step children, and his Favorite Only Sister Dominique Phillips; His special Great niece Skylar Phillips, and Great Nephew X’zavier Allen, His sister in law Christie Phillips his favorite nieces Erica Allen, Antwanette Suggs, Kayla Baskin and Jasmine Phillips ( 2 ) loving aunts, Minnie Sims and Diane (Isaiah) Newson of Benton Harbor, Favorite cousins Jujuan, Robert Quall, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jerry and Joyce Ann, his big brother Lamar, his loving maternal grandparents, Eugene and Louise Phillips, his beloved paternal grandparents Rev. Harry and Lady Minnie Reynolds and Another Loving Aunt Louise Wooden-Brown, three uncles, Harry Reynolds Jr. and Larry Phillip, and Tyrone Phillips
