On Thursday, June 11, 1964, in Buchanan, Michigan a beautiful bouncing baby girl was born to the late James Moore, Sr., and Evelyn White. At a young age, Sherri and her brother James, Jr. was later blessed to be raised by their bonus parents Lonzo Steward and Dora Lee Steward. Surrounded by family on Monday, July 25, 2022, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI., Sherri transitioned from her earthly home to her heavenly home.
Sherri accepted Christ at an early age and attended St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Coleman Gray.
Sherri was a proud Benton Harbor High School graduate with the Class of 1982. In 1998, Sherri later met and married the love of her life Richie Counce. For several years, she worked for Atlantic Automotive. She loved traveling, dancing, and spending time with her family.
Sherri leaves not to mourn but to cherish fond memories in the hearts of her children: Rinardo (Erica) Moore of Benton Harbor, MI; Deontay Moore of Sedalin, MO; and Tenesha (Donald III) Finley; Grandchildren: Jermonia Burrell, Jr., Tiarria Burrell, Star Williams, Davion Moore, Travon Mangum, Journee Mangum, Dequan Moore, Ayriona Moore, Adriana Moore, Julian Moore, and Dontairious Finley; Great-grandson: Noah Burrell; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father James Moore, Sr., mother Evelyn White, bonus father Lonzo Steward, bonus mother Dora Lee Steward, brother James Moore, Jr., daughter Shamika Moore, and a special friend Quil.
