Shermain Yvonne (Farmer) Rufus

Shermain maintained to stay strong and fight until God proclaimed the work finished on August 3, 2022, at Spectrum Health Lakeland Hospital St. Joseph MI. Shermain Yvonne Rufus was born on April 6th, 1949, in Chicago IL to the late Otis and Janette Farmer. She was the second child of, six. 

Shermain was married to Richard Rufus for 53 years. Together they created six beautiful children Audrea, Andrea, Janetta, Bryant, Sharonda, and Richard.

Shermain resided in Benton Harbor MI and accepted Christ at an early age. She enjoyed bingo, watching tv, and spending time with her loved ones. 

Loving Memories will always be in the heart of six children Audrea (Hurie) Brown, Andrea (John) Johnson of Clarksdale MS, Janetta Odjo of Memphis, Bryant (Nicole) Farmer of Indianapolis IN, Sharonda (Lance) Brown of  Benton Harbor MI, and Richard Farmer of  Atlanta GA, her sister Audrina (Leonard) Brown of Chicago IL  and brother Theodore (Jackie) Jordan of Chicago IL, great aunt Clotera Rogers, sister-in-law Johnnie Washington,19  loving grandchildren,16 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, aunts uncles, nephews, and nieces. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Otis Farmer Jr, Eric Farmer, Audrey Farauntsnd grandson Robert D. Farmer.
