Today we celebrate the life of our beloved, Shauntae Davon Hill Sr., a loving son, an amazing father, a nurturing grandfather and a loyal nephew, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
On Saturday, January 9, 2021, Shauntae Hill, departed this life in Terre Haute, Indiana, surrounded by the prayers and love of his family and close friends.
Shauntae Davon Hill, was born, January 7, 1977, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to the late Linda Hill and James Earl Jones. He was affectionately and lovingly so the baby of the family of six siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Linda and James, maternal grandparents, Willie and Mary Williams; paternal grandparents, Ollie Mae Brown and Gabbert Jackson.
Being raised in a family of believers, Shauntae had a personal relationship with God and that Jesus was the Son of God.
Shauntae, affectionately called “Dirk” by his family and friends was a very kindhearted and loving person. He loved his family with a passion and DNA didn’t have to be shared to be considered by him as family. He loved listening to music, sewing and tailoring clothes and was crazy about his children and grandchildren.
Shauntae was formally educated in the Benton Harbor Area Schools and although he did not walk with his class, he received his General Education Development Diploma and was studying to be come a tailor so that he could eventually open his own business upon his return home. He had dreams and hopes. “Dirk” will truly be missed.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving daughter, Sierra Shautae Young and son, Shauntae Devon Hill; (3) sisters, Tamika Hunter and Leantonette Williams, both of Benton Harbor, and Nettia “Tia” (Tony) Nicholson of Wisconsin; (2) brothers, Charles Hill and Duwayne Williams, both of Benton Harbor; (3) grandchildren, Cole Damar Townes, Cartier De’Wyatt Townes and Caiscen D’Hero Townes, on aunt, Jacquelyn (Von) Clement, (2) uncles, Dwight Williams and Willie Williams Jr.; and the love of his life Megan Jordan.
In life we have pleasures with our loved ones, we have sorrows and joys, but thank God for the memories that death cannot destroy; We love you Shauntae and you will forever live in our hearts and memories
