Sharon Burton

The Life Story of Sharon March 19, 1957-June 14, 2026

Sharon Eddie-Burton was born on March 19,1957 In Benton Harbor, MI to the Late Leon and Rometer (Lampkin) Eddie. She confessed her love for Christ at an early age; she was a member of the Greater Community Church of God in Christ under the late Pastor Nathaniel Wells III, she served as a Greeter where she shined that big smile and hug and made everyone feel special when walking in the door of the church. Sharon was the eighth child out of nine children and she was the only girl!!!

She grew up in Benton Harbor, MI and graduated from Benton Harbor High School Class of 1975. February 1996, she met the love of her life Greg Burton. They rode the “ Love" train for 2yrs before making a life long decision to spend the rest of their lives together. Vows were exchanged on October 3,1998 they later renewed their vows in 2023, celebrating 25 yrs.  Greg and Sharon shared 27 years of love together.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she also enjoyed dancing, shopping, relaxing while vacationing and listening to her late husband sing. She was employed by Kmart for many many years before closing in 2002, she then went on to work various other jobs and eventually ended up at Atlantic Automotive (Javis) for four years she was a Production Associate. Before her untimely death she worked with Whitcomb Towers for 19 yrs where she worked as a dining room supervisor she loved giving her time to the elderly.

She leaves to cherish her memory, (3) daughters; Lateka (Matthew) Wade of Concord, NC, Stephne (Perry) Eddie of Benton Harbor, MI and Anetra Burton of Wichita, KS, (5) Brothers Lawrence (Patty) Eddie of Benton Harbor, MI,  Clarence Eddie of Oakpark, MI, Leallen Eddie of Berrien Springs, MI, Ervin (Charlene) Eddie of Benton Harbor, MI, Warnell Eddie of Plano, TX, Sister/Cousin Teijuana Siler of Palma,OH; (2) brother-in laws; Curvie (Priscilla) Burton of Plano,TX and Christopher (Erica) Burton of Jacksonville,FL; (4) sister-in-laws, Peggy Eddie, Debra (Oscar) Webster both of Benton Harbor, MI, Effia Casenia (Howard) Stripling of Dayton,OH and Carol Faye (David) Burton of Sacramento, CA; (7) grandchildren, Jamesheia (Skylar), Kaizha, Jalon (Stank), Tyrese, Clayton, Aaliyah and Isaiah. (5) Great-grandchildren; Christopher Jr (Monkey) Cameron (Ducky) Kailen (Lil Man), Kaivon (P-Vonnie) and Tyerra Childhood Best Friends; Zina Woodson and Brenda Peet.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gregory Burton, her parents Leon and Rometer Eddie, and three brothers Melvin Eddie, Jerome Eddie and Norman Eddie.

Sharon will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her and experienced her genuine hugs and infectious laugh. Let us not forget the gift we were given for 69 years, the laughs, the talks and the comforting words and the presence of a True Queen.
