Shanika Carol (Branscomb) Jones

Shanika C. Jones, 44 of Benton Harbor departed this life June 21, 2025.

She was born on April 12, 1981, in Chicago, IL, to Melvin Porter and Diana Branscomb. Shanika was a vibrant individual who cherished her roles as a wife and mother. Always willing to lend a helping hand, she also made an impact as a motivational speaker and content creator.

Shanika and Bilal Jones tied the knot on July 28, 2001, in Benton Harbor, MI. She cherished her marriage and was a wonderful blessing to Bilal and their family.

Shanika leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Bilal Jones Sr.; daughter, Kalilah Jones; sons: Bilal (Dayzhanique Crowley) Jones Jr, Jaykob Jones, and Kawhi Jones; sisters: Sparkle Young, Lakeisha Porter, and Melanie Porter; brothers: Micah (Shady) Nelson, Chevel Nelson and Terrance Porter; granddaughter, Zo’lahni Carol Jones; auntie, Rochell (Nathen) Burton; uncle; Joddie Williams; mother-in-law, Callie Jones; sister-in-law, Tammy Jones; brother-in-law, Dennis Jones; uncle-in-law, Jimmie Jones; father figure, Michael Howard; her nieces, Tiora Young, Jacquetta Jones, Kamlilah Jones, Adreanna Jones and Jasmine Green;  nephews, Derico Butler, Demeir Hill, Juan Young, Tiyon Young, Kasey Nelson, Percy Brown, Dwontae Jones and Floyd Lee; cousins; Angel Maben, Stacey Branscomb Sr., and Nicole Burton; a host of family and friends.
