Sedrick’s “Chubby” Life Story
Sedrick Lemoyne Valentine, age 55, departed this earthly life on December 13, 2023, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Sedrick, the ninth and youngest child of Patsy Venoy Valentine, was born on Friday, January 26, 1968, in Marianna, Arkansas.
Sedrick, known to his family, friends, and associates as Chubby, attended Marianna public schools and after the family relocated to Michigan, the Benton Harbor public schools. Chubby was known to be a constant presence on the school’s Honor Roll as well as an insightful and clever comedian, often delivering funny but truthful punch lines. At an early age his academic prowess led to him being selected to travel to Washington, DC to represent his class. In his early years he loved playing basketball with his cousins and friends. Chubby loved music and being around family and whomever would laugh at his jokes and in-depth musings on the topics du-jour.
Chubby was a very meticulous person especially in the clothes he chose. Chubby’s love for Adidas athletic apparel is legendary and will be the attire adorned whenever family, friends, neighbors, and associates think of him even though he has departed this earth. We will certainly miss the youngest son of our dearly departed Mother, our youngest brother and sibling, cousin, and friend to any.
