Samuel Menyet Coleman, Jr. was born April 7, 1959, to Evelyn Robinson Coleman and Samuel Coleman Sr. Samuel in Marion, Arkansas. The family moved to Sodus, MI when Samuel was a child, and this is where he grew up.
Sam worked in Nebraska as a professional butcher for 17 yrs. until the plant closed. He secured employment with Kellogg Cornflakes until he injured his knee…this did not hinder him, he continued to work light duty for until he decided to move to New Mexico. He lived there for 9 years and worked making tailgate netting for trucks and learn Spanish becoming fluent in it. He later worked as a substitute teacher teaching Spanish.
After returning to Michigan and met his spouse Annie of 14 yrs., and they were married in 2019. Sam and Annie have a blended family of 4 children and 19 grandchildren.
Sam enjoyed fishing and enjoyed his catamaran and several fishing boats. He also enjoyed doing odd jobs and looking out for his stepsons. He became a member of New Bethel Baptist Church on December 18, 2005, under the leadership of Pastor Milton McAfee.
Sam leaves cherished memories in the hearts of his beautiful wife Annie Marie Coleman; His mother, Evelyn Robinson Coleman; his father-in-law: Samuel (Stacy) Bethea; Children Samuel (Maranda) Smith, Charlecceia Meridy (Daddy Baby) Dora Lucas, Samantha Smith, Mark’us Jackson Sr, Mark’us Jackson Jr. (PaPa Baby) Jeannette Hardnett, Sernette Hardnett, Lavell Hardnett, Marious Alexander; Siblings: Estella (David) Shannon, Marilyn Coleman, Barbara Coleman, Veada Wright; Sister-in-law: Wanishea (Eddie) Marlowe, and 4 brothers-in-law: Terrance Bethea, Samuel Jones Bethea, Eddie Jackson, and Garry Jackson; 3 God-Children Dondrell Blackamore, Lashay Shannon, Mary White; His best friend: David Targu, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Sam was preceded in death by his father Samuel Coleman, sister Nicole Bethea, and Brother Charles Barnes.
