Mr. Roy Sherman departed this life on February 9, 2020, at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, MI.
Mr. Roy Sherman was born to the union of the late Stanley Sherman and Willie Mae Green Sherman on June 22, 1945. He was the fifth child born into a home of thirteen siblings.
He was married to the late Mrs. Martha Bodley who proceed him in death in 2018. To this union two children were born: Felicia Bodley and Jocelyn Bodley and a very-very special grandson Braden Bodley who always tried very hard to be there to assist both of his grandparents.
He worked several jobs which include Auto Specialist and Lake Shore Electric Plate as a supervisor and he later retired and then worked with Clean America.
Roy Sherman joined Hopewell Baptist Church, in the early ’70s under the leadership of the late Pastor John A. Simmons and continued to be a member under the leadership of Pastor Lee Jones, until his health failed. He was a dedicated usher for over 40yrs.
He leaves to mourn his passing two daughters, Felicia and Jocelyn Bodley and his special grandson (Braden Bodley) all of Benton Harbor Michigan, four sister Eloise(Johnny) McPherson and Essie(Timothy)Moncure of Jackson, Miss, Mary Walker Sherman of Chicago, Illinois, Mamie Sherman of Greenville, Miss and three brothers, Charles Sherman(Doris), Stanley Sherman of Anguilla, Miss and Will Sherman of Las Vegas, Nevada; stepson Earnest Bodley, of Benton Harbor, and a host of grandchildren’s, nieces; nephews and friends.
Roy Sherman is proceeded in death by his wife Martha Sherman, his Mother, and Father Stanley and Willie Mae Sherman, daughters Ruthie Sherman, and Rosemary Sherman, stepdaughter Joanne Davis-Allen.
