Rosella Janita Reed

Rosella Janita (Nika) Reed, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 17, 2021 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  She was born December 24, 1984 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to James Edward Dortch and Mary Ann Reed.

Nika attended Creston High School and also worked as a certified nursing assistant at Heartstone Manor.  Nika truly lived her life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as chatting with friends and family, snacking and spending time with her nieces and nephews.  She enjoyed going back to Benton Harbor to spend time with her family.

Nika was a kind hearted, funny, outspoken and nurturing person.  Nika overjoyed  when she found out she was pregnant with her first child.  She dedicated her love, time, energy and life to her miracle baby Jakari Quazay Reed.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: (one) son Jakari Quazay Reed of Grand Rapids, MI. (two) brothers James (Libra) Reed Sr. of Grand Rapids, MI., Jason (Shiquita) Reed Sr., of Kalamazoo, MI. (one) sister Gabrielle Dortch of Berrien Springs, MI. (four) nephews James Reed Jr., Jamarion Reed, Jamalachi Reed all of Grand Rapids, MI., Jason Reed Jr., of Kansas City, MO. , (two) nieces Myesha Mayhue and Jaqueena Reed of Grand Rapids, MI.  Her favorite cousins Freeda Dortch and Niesha Lowe and her God Sister Shawn Carter.

Nika was proceeded in death by her Grandparents Charles Reed, Rosella Reed, Arthur Lee and Dorothy Dortch.
