Roosevelt Young Obituary

Roosevelt Darnell Young, 63 born on February 21, 1962 passed away on February 15, 2026. He was the son of Jerry Young Sr. and Marine Branscumb. 

Roosevelt is survived by his one and only child Darren Damond Young. Whom he adored dearly. Roosevelt, affectionately known as "Boo". He was a fisherman at heart. You could always find him on someone fish bank. He was known for having his fish fry every year in the summers for any and everyone. Noone was ever turned away. He was employed at Certified Metal in Benton Harbor, MI for many years until his health started to fail. He was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church and attended services regularly.

He is survived by sisters: Lachonda Branscumb of Grand Rapids, MI. Shirlitha Branscumb Lawson of Kansas City, KS. Vicki Hughes of Las Vegas, NV. Lakeisha Taylor of Benton Harbor, MI. Brothers: David Branscumb of Kalamazoo, MI. Dewayne Branscumb of Kansas City, MO. Adrian Branscumb of Benton Harbor, MI. Nicholas Branscumb of Benton Harbor, MI.

Special mother Dorothy Branscumb. Best friend and fishing buddy James Clay. Roosevelt had a host of family, friends, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jerry Young Sr. and Marine Branscumb. Doyle Branscumb, Darrell Branscumb, Will Branscumb Jr, Anthony Branscumb, Jerry Young Jr. and twin brothers Larnell and Vernell Young. Twin Aunt Maxine Taylor and dear first cousin Terry White whom homecoming follows his home going immediately following at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.
