Roosevelt Brown Sr.

Deacon Roosevelt Brown, 75 of Fishers, IN formerly of Benton Harbor departed this life July 26, 2024. He was born December 20th, 1948, in Helena, Arkansas, to Roy and Rosie May Murphy. He and his family relocated to the Benton Harbor, Michigan, area in 1962. He entered his eternal rest on July 26th, 2024, at 75. His final days were spent surrounded by family and those whose lives he touched.

Roosevelt married his loving wife, Ora Brown, on May 9th, 1987, and moved to Indiana. 

He joined the Shining Star Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis in 1997, where he accepted Christ, was baptized, and later became a devoted Deacon under Pastor Leroy Lawrence. He believed in God and had an undying love for Him. Even in his illness, he would sing praise to Him. He was the thread keeping the family together through the good and bad times, the happy times and the sad.

Roosevelt had an honorable career as a professional legal gambler, later becoming a head custodian at Carmel Clay School District, Indiana, for nine years until his retirement.

Roosevelt was a devoted, giving, and honorable husband and father. He had a huge heart and was willing to help anyone in need. He had a lot of charisma and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Everyone who met him knew they could come to him for wisdom and support.
