Robert L. Shelby

Robert Lewis Shelby, 82 of Benton Harbor departed this life December 5, 2025, peacefully with his wife of 57 years by his and at their home. He was born in St. Louis, MO on November 27, 1943 to Annabelle Sutton and was employed by Studebaker, a car dealership in South Bend, IN.

At the age of 22 Robert met Ella Mae Warren and they were married in 1969. They moved to Benton Harbor and Robert was employed by River Terrace Duplex until he retired after fourteen years. Robert loved to be around his family, cooking on the grill, singing, dancing, making jokes, laughing, watching TV and taking care of his yard. Robert was a very spiritual man who truly believed in the Lord Our Savior, Jesus Christ. Robert will truly be missed. May he rest in peace.

Robert will always be remembered by his wife, Ella Mae Warren; daughter, Kierston Peaches Costabile; sons: Robert Shelby Jr., Terrance Shelby, Edward Shelby and Clifton Lee; 12 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
