Richard Hall Obituary

Richard Allen Hall, 59, of Benton Harbor passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024.

Richard “Rick” aka “Butch” led a tumultuous life.  He specifically said, “ don’t sugarcoat” and “don’t lie.” So that’s all we will say about that.

He was born February 18, 1965 and was a loving gentle man to those he loved most. Richard could be mischievous at times, but he still had a great sense of humor after all that he had been thru in life.

Richard was a man of many talents. He was artistic and could draw beautiful pictures. He was a whiz with a wrench fixing small motors and cars, he could fix almost anything. Richard was a genius in his own right. Intellectually sound. He had studied the Bible inside and out and was extremely book smart.

In his latter life, he was very giving. Richard would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. He even gave homes to those in need; he shared whatever he had. Richard loved passing time fishing at many of his favorite fishing holes. Whether it be river or lake it did not matter. Richards greatest loves though were his cats. They brought him great joy and comfort.

Richard was married for a time, with 4 stepchildren whom he loved dearly. Later in life, Richad was engaged to his Fiancé, Tammie Hines, for 2 years. They earned extra money scrapping together. Tammie took great care of him through the hardest parts of his illness. Richard was incredibly blessed to have her in his life. While under hospice care, Richard peacefully passed away.

Richard is survived by his Fiancé, Tammie L. Hines; sister, Yvonne (Jim) Carroll of Louisville, KY; brother, William Hall of Benton Harbor, MI; 2 nephews; 8 great nieces and nephews; a host of family and friends.

Richard is preceded in death by his father and mother, William L. and Jeanne J. Hall; grandparents, Harry D. and Yvonne J. Case; uncles, Mike Case. Edgar A. and Alberta J. Hall, Dale Hall, Dean Hall and Melvin Hall. And his nephew Brandon L. Carroll.
