Raymond Louis Dunlap was born on October 1, 1956 in Flint, Michigan, the youngest son of the late David Dunlap, and the late Virginia Inez Bell Dunlap. The LORD called him home to rest on January 15th, 2021, after a battle with liver cancer. He graduated from Scott High School, in Toledo, Ohio, was a student at Lake Michigan College, in Benton Harbor, MI, and became a pre-law student at Detroit College of Law, in his early years.
Raymond later became employed as a Folder Operator at Imperial Printing Co., and Batson Printing, St. Joseph, MI. Raymond accepted Jesus Christ at an early age in Prescott, Arkansas, later rededicated his life to the LORD prior to his transition, and was a member of McCoy’s Old Landmark Ministries, under the leadership of Bishop Calvin McCoy, Sr. Raymond had a vibrant personality and a genuine love for life and all people.
Raymond had many diverse interests including martial arts, where he obtained the level of Third-Degree black belt in Taekwondo, he was a gifted sketch artist and oil painter, and he enjoyed playing the guitar. He was also a skilled carpenter, craftsman, and entrepreneur.
Raymond was preceded in death by his father, David Dunlap, his mother, Virginia Dunlap, his brother George Brooks, Jr., his fiancée, Linda Harrison, his paternal grandfather, Willis Dunlap, his paternal grandmother, Mollie Dunlap, and his maternal grandmother, Pearl Easton.
Raymond leaves to cherish his memory and mourn his death; Four sons, Raymond D. Dunlap of Benton Harbor, MI, Robert Dunlap of Kalamazoo, MI, Corey Harrison of Houston, Texas, and Carl Dunlap of Dallas, Texas. Three daughters, Latisha Dunlap of Kalamazoo, MI, Nakeda Dunlap and Ebony Dunlap both of Indianapolis, Indiana. Four bonus daughters, Koko McClain and Isheia McClain of Kalamazoo, MI, Utica McClain of Benton Harbor, MI, and Charmaine Harrison of New Orleans, Louisiana, and one bonus son, Terrez McIntosh of Kalamazoo, MI. One brother, David E. Dunlap of Benton Harbor, MI. Three sisters, Akime Plater of Shreveport, Louisiana, Shirleen Hammitt of Puyallup, Washington, Regina Williams and bro-in-law, Coroth Williams of Lakewood, Washington. 22 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and 4 special friends, Michael Watts, Valerie McClain, Anna Satterfield and Eddie Smith, Jr.
Raymond left a lasting impact on every single life that he encountered, and will be greatly missed.
