Rachel Ann Mathison

Rachel Ann Mathison, age 54, passed away suddenly at her home in Benton Harbor, Michigan, on June 13, 2025.

Born on January 20, 1971, in Benton Harbor, Rachel was the 17th child born to the union of Dan and Irene Mathison. Rachel was a devoted mother of five and a proud grandmother to 22 grandchildren, each of whom brought joy and purpose to her life. Her home was always open, her table always full, and her heart always giving.

Driven by a desire to help others, Rachel earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from Lake Michigan College in 2018 to the cheers of all who loved her. Rachel's life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering dedication to her family and to those she loved. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh, generous spirit, and the strength she showed through every season of her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
