Brother Perry Caldwell 63 transited from labor to reward on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Corewell Health in Saint Joseph, Michigan.
Perry was born April 4, 1962, in Memphis, Tennessee right after his twin brother Paul, making Perry the baby of the Caldwell Family. Perry was born to the union of James Willie and Maggie Mae (Osby) Caldwell.
Perry family moved from Batesville, Mississippi to the Berrien Springs and Eau Claire area then later to Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Perry confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. He united with Israelite Baptist Church under the late Pastor John McAfee. He remained faithful under the leadership of the late Pastor Joe N. Bruins. Continuing serving as a Trustee under Pastor Darren McCormick.
Perry graduated from Benton Harbor High School on June 3, 1982.
Perry was an all-around type of guy. He loved the outdoors, mowing his yard, working on his car, fishing, gardening and going to church service. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, cousin and church family whoever came by the crib to talk ‘SMACK’.
Perry worked various jobs over his lifetime, including a productive career in construction; Bus driver for the department of transportation for Benton Harbor Public School, Pemco Die Casting and Hoffman Die Casting Operation.
Perry memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who will continue to love him.
Perry leaves to cherish his memory, his one and only daughter La’Tasha (Chanton) Welch, two grandsons Ta’Shawn and Ta’Juan Welch; one granddaughter Ta’Niyah Welch; four of the greatest brothers in the world, James Earl (Martha) Caldwell, Ramon (Gerothy) Caldwell, Wesley (Gwen) Caldwell and Owen (Lorrine) Caldwell; his one and only Aunt Bertha Osby and a very large host nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts, cousins, family, friends and church family.
He was proceeded in death by his parents James Willie and Maggie Mae (Osby) Caldwell; his sister Shirley Ann Anderson Caldwell; his twin brother Paul Caldwell; his maternal grandparents Albert (Lizzie) Osby, and his paternal grandparents Joe Willie (Martha) Caldwell.
