Patricia Meeks (Pat) was born on June 23, 1953, to the union of Willie and Fannie Meeks in Lacoochee, Florida. Patricia's journey led her to Benton Harbor, MI, alongside her mother and two brothers. After graduating from Benton Harbor High School, she continued her Tiger Pride legacy by becoming an integral part of the Benton Harbor school system.
Patricia wore many hats during her tenure, serving as a bus monitor, crossing guard, office worker, and lending her hand as a teacher's aide. Her dedication to the education system remained unwavering until her health intervened. Patricia's commitment extended beyond the school corridors, as she was a devoted mother to her three children, Eric Meeks, James Meeks, and Angela Meeks. Her love knew no bounds, and she went above and beyond to protect, provide, nurture, guide, and invest in her children.
An artist at heart, Patricia found joy in arts and crafts, decorating for church functions, and contributing to the planning of events within the school system. For many years, she was a member of the New Paradise Baptist Church, where she served on the nurses guild, advised the youth choir, and lent her voice to the adult choirs. In the last two decades of her life, Patricia found spiritual fellowship at the Bread of Life Baptist Church until the day God called her home.
On Sunday, September 24th, 2023, Patricia gained her wings and transitioned from her physical earthly journey to her well-deserved spiritual rest in Heaven.
She leaves to cherish her memory, (son) Eric Dwayne Meeks, (son) James Lamont Meeks Sr., (daughter) Angela Michelle Denise Meeks, (brother) Robert Mix, (sister) Aqunetta (Mix) Woodie, (grandson) Jalen Flie, (granddaughter) Ja’liyah L.
