Onia Judson Obituary

Onia Pearl (Brown) Judson was born on May 4, 1944, to the late Ellis Brown Sr. and Florida Loreane Brown in Oakland, Mississippi.  She attended Water Valley High school in Water Valley, Mississippi.  In 1963, Onia, affectionately known as “Pearl” was united in Holy matrimony to David Judson.  To this union, they were blessed with three children, Nancy, David, and Stephanie. 

Pearl and her family relocated to Benton Harbor, Michigan and in 1968, Pearl met the love of her life, John L. (Honey Bee) Miller.  In 1978, Pearl and Honey Bee was blessed with their son Reginald.  Pearl, confessed her life to Christ at a young age.  She was a faithful member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.  Pearl had a passion for helping others.  She decided to further her education at Lake Michigan College, where she obtained her Nursing Degree in 1971.  Following her passion, she started working at Berrien General Hospital located in Berrien Spring, Michigan as an LPN.  Pearl worked at Berrien General Hospital for many years, until she retired in 2000. 

Pearl leaves to cherish her memories, three children, Nancy (David) Judson, Benton Harbor, Michigan; David (Louise) Judson, Atlanta, Georgia; and Reginald (Gale) Judson, Magna, Utah;  three aunts, Ethel Hudson Morgan, Water Valley, Mississippi; Bessie Hudson Johnson, Covington, Georgia; and Mae Gladys Hudson Lathan, St. Louis, Missouri; one uncle, Elam Wilson Hudson, Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Henry Dale Brown, Indianapolis, Indiana; and Raymond (Trichelle) Brown, Loganville, Georgia; four sisters, Annie Lee, Flint, Michigan; Margaret Brown, Benton Harbor, Michigan; Dr. Helen Brown, Ellenwood, Georgia; and Janice Brown, Cummings, Georgia, two God-daughters, Donna Tyler and Marie Williams, Benton Harbor, Michigan; one God-son, Esau Whitfield, Grand Rapids, Michigan; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents Ellis and Loreane Brown, the love of her life John L (Honey Bee) Miller; one daughter, Stephanie Rene Judson; three brothers, Edward Charles Brown, Ellis Brown Jr, and James Leon Brown; and one sister, Nancy Butler.
