Myra Jean Bell was born May 5, 1960, to Willie B Boyd and Fred Bell Jr in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Myra graduated in 1978 from Benton harbor high school. Myra loved her grandchildren! they were her “LIFE” she loved to laugh and have fun all the time. Myra attended Peter’s Rock Baptist Church at a young age. She enjoyed singing in the choir under the leadership of the late Rev. Frank Barnes.
Myra's career was taking care of the Elderly. She cared for two clients for many years until their passing. Myra was then employed with Ramanda Inn as a “Housekeeper Manager” with her long-time friend Earl Harris who also preceded in death in 2021 until her health no longer allowed her to work.
Myra had a “heart of gold” you ask her to help, she was NEVER the type to say “NO”, but you will compensate her for her assistance. Along she raised 5 grandkids of her own Tionne Bell, Javon(man-man) Bell, Damien Jr Bell, Damarien Bell, and Da’Nijah Bell. No matter what she always helped and never complained. She had a nickname given to her by her boys “Knock out Maury” and her response was always “it's CC Chocolate Chip and I will Melt all Over you”!!! she never played any games about the ones she loved! Myra lighted up the room to know her is to LOVE her Said Myra best friend Sheila Johnson along with her best friends/sisters Olethea Ramsey, Shirley Phillips.
Myra leaves to cherish her loving memoirs, her son’s Derrick Bell and Jason Bell of South Bend, IN, Leonard Bell of Columbus, OH, Damien Bell of Benton harbor MI her bonus daughter she was never able to have ( granddaughter) Tionne Bell Kalamazoo Mi, Sister Sandra ( Gary ) Hester of Kalamazoo, Mi Brother Michael Bell of Lake Worth Beach, FL, Brother Melvin Johnson South Carolina, Auntie Lillie Means and Leana Hampton of Benton Harbor Mi, 25 Grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a host of Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, grandchildren, family, and friends.
Myra was preceded in death by her father Fred Bell Jr, mother Willie B Boyd, stepfather Frazz Boyd, sister Joyce Carter, brother Lonnell Bell, best friend Gloria Hobbs, Grandmother Maybelle Souels, grandson Javon (Man-Man) Bell
