Missionary Lee Jones Obituary

Missionary Lee Ethel Jones, affectionately known as Baby Sis, transitioned into sleep on March 21, 2025, at the age of 79. She was born in Joiner, Arkansas, to Lonnie and Pauline (Parker) Middlebrook on July 3, 1945. Lee Ethel Jones was a woman of many accomplishments. She graduated top of her class as the Valedictorian of 1964 and was the star basketball guard for the Harrison High School Dragons.

In May of 1964, she married John Henry Jones, and together they had three children: Carolyn Jones, Sandra Jones, and John Henry Jr.

As Arkansas and Ohio were temporary places of Residence for her, Benton Harbor became the place she called home. Missionary Jones worked for The Secretary of State of Michigan and American Electric Power company for many years until her retirement. 

Early in the 1970s, Missionary Lee Jones became part of the Pentecostal Power Church, located at 466 Pipestone, under the leadership of Bishop Willis Baker. Faithfully, she served as the Missionary President for many years. After the transition of Bishop Willis Baker, Mother Jones remained steadfast in her commitment to the ministry under the leadership of Pastor Leroy Lane. Under this leadership, she continued to serve as the Missionary President, Pastor Aid President, and overall, Boss Lady was the name many gave her because if the project landed in her hands, it would get done. Mother Jones' unwavering commitment and dedication were evident in everything she did, even under her current leader, Pastor Immanuel Williams. She was a mentor and served on the board of Directors of the New Birth Apostolic Church.  

Mother Jones was a beacon of guidance and leadership to those who knew her. Her unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and church was evident in everything she did. She was a mentor and leader, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Mother Jones will be remembered as a remarkable woman of God who significantly impacted the lives of many. She leaves behind a legacy of trust that will be remembered by everyone she impacted. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Pauline Middlebrook, brothers Monroe Ward, Lonnie Middlebrook Jr, James Middlebrook, Roy Middlebrook, and sisters Dorothy Middlebrook Milner and Joann Taylor: daughter Carolyn Curry, and Son John Jones II.

She leaves the cherish her memories one daughter, Sandra Williams, two sisters, Mary Louise Middlebrooks Brooks and Shirly Middlebrooks Marshall, and eight grandchildren: Latoya Gordon, Denisha Bodley, Dennis Bodley Jr., Teleyia Jones, John Jones III, Keshawn Jones, Dondre Curry, and Dondrea Curry. Fifteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish a special nephew, Isiaha (Red) Worsham, and a Special granddaughter, Margret McClinton, along with a host of God's children, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
