Mickey "Mouse" Booth Obituary

Mickey Shawndel "Mouse" Booth, beloved son, brother, and father, passed away on May 19, 2023, at Corewell Health South in St. Joseph, Michigan. He was born on January 13, 1971, at Berrien General Hospital in Berrien Center, Michigan, to Carolyn Whitfield Booth and Leroy Booth. Mickey was a source of love, laughter, and cherished memories, and his loss deeply saddened his friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Mickey completed his education at Benton Harbor Area Schools, graduating from Benton Harbor High School in 1990. He worked in various manufacturing jobs before pursuing his lifelong passion for hairstyling. Mickey's affinity for hair began at a young age when he began experimenting with his mother and sister's hair at just 12 years old. He later enrolled in Twin City Beauty College, where he graduated and became a skilled cosmetologist. Although he found professional fulfillment as a freelancer in the beauty industry, Mickey's greatest joy came from spending quality time with his family, relishing movies, music, and savoring delicious food.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mickey was a devoted father, son, and brother. His legacy lies in the love, laughter, and treasured memories he leaves behind. Mickey's children will forever remember him as a constant source of guidance, unwavering support, and unconditional love. They will cherish the countless memories they shared together throughout their lives. Mickey found true happiness in playing games, watching movies with his family, and nurturing strong bonds with his children.

Those fortunate enough to have known Mickey will always remember his infectious laughter, kind and generous heart, and his unyielding passion for life. He embraced each day with enthusiasm and dedication, treating it as if it were his last. Mickey possessed a unique ability to make everyone around him feel seen, heard, and valued. His genuine compassion touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on their hearts.

Mickey's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who loved him. His loving wife, Shawna Booth, his caring mother, Carolyn Booth, his daughters, Santana Roberts, Savannah Roberts, Sandalia Atkins, Jasmaine Booth, Desiree Ware, Shaylon Moore, Ebony Kirby, Marissa Booth, Melina Winters, Mickinzie Booth, and his son Zachary Nesbitt will forever hold his memory dear.

He is also survived by his sisters Tracy Birmingham and Thelmela Booth, his brothers John Whitfield, Tony Whitfield, Melvin Booth, and Marvin Hoyle along with 19 grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Mickey was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Booth, and his grandparents James and Annie Cooper, Robert Whitfield, Will and Ruthie Booth. He was also preceded by his uncles Robert Whitfield, LC Cooper, Willie Whitfield, Marvin Hoyle Sr., Robert Ivory, his Aunt Luvern Hoyle, his niece Tiara Whitfield, and cousin Tavena Cooper.
