Michael Anthony Rimpson

Michael Anthony Rimpson was born October 18, 1959, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. He was the sixth of twelve children born to the union of Rosetta and Ernest Rimpson Sr.    
Michael departed this life on January 15, 2022, in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

Michael confessed his love for Christ at an early age at Hopewell Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor John A. Simmons. 

Michael was a 1978 graduate from Benton Harbor High School. He worked several years for Cook Nuclear Plant in Bridgman, Michigan. He later was employed by E Rimpson Scrap Paper Company. Michael had a unique sense of humor. He loved calling everybody for a hot two minutes just to say what he planned on doing and/or talking about all the wild animals that he was going to cook. Michael enjoyed watching suspense movies and he would tell the outcome from his perspective before it even happened. When it came to numbers, Michael had a certain intuition. Whether it be picking out the correct lottery numbers or giving information on which stocks to choose. Michael also had a love for music, his favorite being old school R&B and the down-home Blues. You can put on one of Michael’s favorite songs at a party and you’re guaranteed to have a great time. Michael loved music so much that you could catch him deejaying at the local club (Smokies) from time to time.

Michael was in a long-time relationship with Barbara “Bossy” Young until she passed away. They had three children: Antonio (Dana) Young and Dontae Young both of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Michelle Rimpson of Columbus, Ohio.
Seven grandchildren: Demetrius Young, Keyoma Campbell, Aaron Bell Jr., Jaylen Young, Amiyah Bell, Aniyah Young, and Tehya Jones.
Three lovely great-grandchildren: Demetrius Young Jr, Lavon Young, and Tatum Lee.

Michael also leaves to cherish his father: Ernest Rimpson Sr. Four sisters: Darlene Carter and Adele Rimpson of Benton Harbor, Pamela (Carl) Dudley and Roshonda (Harold) Wiggins of Kalamazoo, MI. Three brothers: Ernest (Renee) Rimpson, Calvin Rimpson of Benton Harbor, and Donald (Rhonda) Rimpson of Memphis, TN. One aunt: Annie Lenzy. One uncle: Willis Richmond. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Rosetta Rimpson, his son Michael Antwon Young, three sisters: Anna Marie, Anita Rimpson, and Deborah Washington. He was also preceded in death by one brother: Otis Rimpson.
