Melody Eddie, 57 affectionally known as Auntie Mel of Benton Harbor, MI passed away on Friday, September 4, 2020, in Kentwood MI with her family by her side.
On September 20, 1962, Melody was born in Benton Harbor MI to Charles Williams and Queen Harris.
She attended Benton Harbor Area School and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in 1981.
Melody was joined in marriage to Warnell Eddie in the year of 1982.
Melody has been a member of Old Path Church of God, Benton Harbor MI, under the leadership of Apostle Minus Thompson, Sr., since she was 19 years old. She has been a faithful and active member thru out the past 38 years. She has sponsored many fundraisers and events for her Church, which she loved.
She worked at the Berrien General Hospital and Mercy/Memorial Hospital now known as Lakeland Spectrum health and for Dawson Manufacturers before becoming a homemaker.
Melody loved spending time with her family. She was a people person and would open her home up to those that needed help. She also loved to travel, especially with her Aunt Lola. Melody was a great seamstress that could make anything. She also loved to cook and was a wonderful cook. Mel was a babysitter and she also transported people to the stores and doctor appointments and various places.
Melody Eddie leaves to cherish her memory her Six (6) Children: Leon Eddie of Grand Rapids, MI; LaTisha (Adam) Chavous of South Bend, IN; Julian Box and Jeremy Box of Indianapolis, IN; Jennifer Box and Isaiah Eddie of Benton Harbor MI; Seven (7) Grandchildren: Naugthyiez, Naughier, Javen, Arayah, John (Dillon), Tayiah and Claire. Siblings: Jacquelyn Williams and Debra Williams of Byron Center MI; Charles Williams (Vernell), James Turner (Lethell) and Don (Temika) Turner (Cardell) of Benton Harbor MI; Willie J (Marie) Foster of Memphis TN, Johnny (Linda) Bay, Bettie M. Burton, Pearl Lewis, Joy Moltimore and Victoria Mark. Uncle: James Harris and Aunt: Bishop Mary Martin of Gary, IN. Her best friend since childhood Patricia King-Williams of Houston, Tx, and a host of Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, and Friends.
Melody was proceeded in death by her parents, Charles Williams and Queen Harris-Foster, Sisters, Betty Johnson, Tennie Cottle, Dolly Sheperd and Brothers, Napoleon D. Foster, Robert Foster, and Aunt, Lola Watson.
