Mary Pearl (Mock) Scherer (nee Rolland) passed away peacefully on January 14, 2024, at the age of 73 in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Born on October 14, 1950, in Benton Harbor, MI, Mary was a loving mother of two daughters and a devoted sister, niece, and aunt.
Mary was a wonderful, quiet woman who worked hard to take care of her family. She was always helpful and kind to everyone she met, accepting them as they were without judgment. Mary had a warm heart and never looked down on anyone, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Mary attended St. Johns Catholic High School and later pursued her education at Lake Michigan Community College. She excelled in her career as an accountant, working at Tri-County Bookkeeping until its closure. She then dedicated her skills to Meijer until her retirement.
In her free time, Mary enjoyed doing puzzles and reading books. These hobbies brought her joy and relaxation, allowing her to unwind and embrace her love for intellectual challenges.
Mary is survived by her brother, Eli Rolland, and her daughters, Regina Mock and Marie Scherer. She also leaves behind her niece, Katrina Rolland, along with two other nieces and a nephew, as well as a host of cousins. Mary was a cherished grandmother to Sierra Thomas, Teran Byrd Jr, Grayson, and Cameron Rezente. Additionally, she was a beloved great-grandmother to Julian, Sophia, Tegean Jr, Chloe, Katara, and Emerson. A host of great nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Dorothy Rolland, as well as her sister, Eudora (Dody) Rolland.
No memorial services are planned at this time. Mary will be cremated by Robbins Brothers Funeral Home in Benton Harbor, MI. The compassionate staff at Robins Brothers Funeral Home is assisting the family with the necessary arrangements during this difficult time.
Mary's kind and loving nature will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
