Mary Ann (Grays) Rockett

Mary Ann Rockett 75, of Benton Harbor Michigan, passed away on March 28, 2024, at home.

Mary was known to her family and friends as “Sudi”. She was born on April 14, 1948, in Gates Tennessee to the late Robert Greys and Lucy Jane (Morris) Goss. She was married to Oliver Shiver but later divorced and married Chester Rockett during those unions 5 beautiful children were created.

She worked as a Nurse’s Aide and Teacher’s assistant for many years until retirement. She loved kids and that love extended into helping raise many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was never afraid to let you know just how she felt…from cursing you out to telling you she loved you. She didn’t waiver from who she was no matter who she was interacting with….to know her was to love her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her companion of 40 years L.T. Hoskin 5 children Melissa Goss, Craig Shivers, Chester Rockett Jr, Dennis(LaShika) Rockett, and Staci(Marion) Perry all of Benton Harbor Michigan 7 Siblings James(Nancy) Goss of Fort Wayne In Richard Goss of Joplin Missouri, Brenda Goss of Fort Wayne In, Belinda(Jeremy) Cretsinger of Edinburgh In, Travis Goss, Trina(Marlon) Williams, Regina Goss all of Fort Wayne In. 17 Grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 She is preceded in death by her parent, a sibling, and a grandchild.
