Mary Griffin

Mary Darlene Davis Griffin, age 68, of Benton Harbor, Michigan, died at Corwell Health in St. Joseph on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025.

She was born in Rosedale, Mississippi in 1956 to Myrtle Virginia West and Robert Roy Davis Sr. Mary was the middle child of 7 siblings. She attended Benton Harbor High School in 1975 before becoming a stay-at-home mother. Mary did have many titles throughout the workforce- housekeeping, managing small businesses, etc. but being “Mother” was her most cherished title of them all. She was a mother of 6 amazing children.

Mary survived cervical cancer and in October 2024 was diagnosed with Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC).

Mary most enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, spending time at the casino, watching the sunset on the beach, gardening, and spending time with friends. In her 68 years, she absolutely lived life to the fullest.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and Robert, her son Bryan William Griffin, and her younger brother Rob Roy Jr.

She is survived by her siblings Darnell, William, Rachel, Daniel, and Dawn; her children Jennifer (Strode), Jimmy, Corby (Marcia), Michael, Michelle (Billy); grandchildren Drove, Jude, Adrew, Allison, Adam, James, Cellie, Damien, Zoie, and Adin, and great grandchildren Emberleigh and Elwin.
