Mary Alice Gladney

The sun set on the life of Mary Alice Gladney on March 14, 2021 at the age of 70 under the care of Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Mary was born October 23, 1950 in Tupelo, Mississippi to Ella Mae Brown & Roosevelt Gladney Sr. who both preceded her in death. Mary’s family relocated to Benton Harbor, Michigan in 1951, when Mary was 1 year old.

Mary loved spending time with family and friends, going to the casino and playing cards. Mary worked for Berrien General Hospital for over 23 years, then continuing to Lakeland Hospital until her health failed in February of 2020.

Mary was a very kind soul and showed love to all she encountered, Mary’s light will be missed dearly but will be forever in our hearts.

Mary is survived by two daughters Tina (Quinton) Whitfield and Alisa Gladney. Two Grandsons Roland Wren Jr. Benton Harbor, Michigan and Rayshawn Wren Talladega, Alabama and Great-Grandchild Naveah Wren, Aunt Annie Lenzy. Sisters Mary Louise Rimpson, Mattie Johnson, Hortense Guest, Virginia Miller and one brother Roosevelt Gladney Jr. Two very special friends Janice Dawson and Birdie, One God-child Danny Roseburgh, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
