Marlon Tyree Bowman, 19, transcended this life into eternal life with The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early morning, Monday, May 30, 2022, at Lakeland Medical Center.
He was born February 20, 2003, minutes before twin brother Mylon, to parents Stephanie Bowman and Jarvis Jones, at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Marlon attended Benton Harbor area schools and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in June 2021.
As #24, he played side-by-side with his twin, #33, on his beloved Benton Harbor Varsity Football team. In September 2021, Marlon began work at Colson Group USA LLC where his hard hat, harness, and truck was memorialized in his honor. He began college courses at Lake Michigan College and positioned himself to transfer to Grand Valley State in the fall of this year. Marlon’s focus was to finish school while working his small detailing business, then pursue his passion for restoring homes.
Marlon accepted the Lord into his life and was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost under the tutelage of Pastors Cornell & Josie Tyson of Mustard Seed Children’s Ministry, where he worshiped the Lord and served for 15 years.
Always active in ministry, he served with the young people and encouraged them through conversation, scripture, and by example to continue to do the right thing, “stay with the Lord”. A praise dancer and choir member at all church events, Marlon was loved by his fellow church members.
Marlon was known throughout the community for his practice of being a “Good Kid”, he will truly be missed. Marlon will be remembered for his willingness to help in any capacity, his great love for his mother and family, and his beautiful smile.
