Marie Larkin was born in Bernie, Missouri on December 20, 1932 to William and Sarah (Pearson) Beathea . Her parents later moved to Chicago, Illinois then to Cassopolis, MI where she spent the majority of her young life. After Marie graduated from Cassopolis High School in 1950, she then later moved to Benton Harbor Michigan where she met her then husband Ezell Larkin Sr and started a family.
Some of Marie’s favorite things to do were cooking and decorating, she could take a piece of junk and turn it into something beautiful she would call it (Shabby Chic). She could also transform herself into a fashion model whenever necessary for those special occasions.
Marie was happiest when she was surrounded by family especially her sisters which brought her so much joy. Maire was private yet friendly to many who knew her. Marie worked through Senior Services and was assigned as a tour guide at Corner Stone Alliance Art Gallery, most of her jobs that were associated with community service work in helping others until she became ill in 2005.
She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter Beverly Larkin, sons- Michael Larkin, Jeffery Larkin, Deshawn Larkin and eight grandchildren: Shannon Larkin, Cameron Larkin, Brittany Larkin, Makayla Larkin, Jordan Larkin, Ezell Larkin lll., Kenya Landers, Demond Williams, two sisters: Helen Beathea, Joyce Beathea, three brothers: Sam Beathea, Carl Beathea, Kenny Beathea and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was Preceded in death by her husband Ezell Larkin Sr., sons: Ezell Larkin II and Anthony Larkin. Sister, Ruth
