Florida Loreane Brown was born on November 2, 1920, to the late Alexander and Maggie Wright Hudson in Tillatoba, Mississippi in Yalobusha County. In 1939, she married the late Rev. Ellis Brown, with this union, they were blessed with eleven children. She attended Zion Grove High School in Coffeeville, Mississippi, and in 1965 she relocated to Benton Harbor, Michigan. Loreane attended Union Memorial AME Church, Hopewell Baptist Church, and worked as a Laborer at Michigan Fruit Cannery. She also worked as a housemaid for the Bushbough family for many years in Benton Harbor, Michigan. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her delicious homemade cakes. She loved looking through photo albums of her family and friends and enjoyed re-reading her holiday and birthday cards.
Loreane leaves to cherish her memories, three sisters, Ethel Hudson Morgan, Bessie Hudson Johnson, and Mae Gladys Hudson Lathan; one brother, Elam Wilson Hudson; three sons, Ellis Brown Jr., Henry Dale Brown and Raymond Brown; five daughters, Annie Lee, Onia Pearl Judson, Margaret Brown, Dr. Helen Brown, and Janice Brown, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.
Loreane was preceded in death by her late husband, Rev. Ellis Brown, five siblings, Willie Alice Hudson Horton, Susie Ouida Hudson, Annie Ophelia Hudson Jones, Leland Hudson, and Eugene Hudson; two sons, Edward Charles Brown and James Leon Brown; one daughter, Nancy Butler; and one Grandchild, Content Butler.
