Linda Ann Johnson-William age 67 passed away October 21, 2023, at home surrounded by her loved ones in Holland, MI.
Linda was born on October 25, 1955, in Benton Harbor, MI to the union of Marjorie Ann and Roy Lee Johnson. She was raised in Benton Harbor until she relocated to Holland, MI where she resided for the last 24 years.
Linda graduated from Benton Harbor High School and later obtained her associate degree later in life. Linda worked as a district manager in the restaurant industry. Before her health declined, she worked in the financial department at Express Auto in Holland, MI.
Linda's main passion was her sobriety. She worked her steps for 24 years and was successful until her passing. Linday would say “The God of understanding will lead the way (holla) cause I am blessed and highly favored.” This was her favorite saying. Linda took her sobriety seriously she was a firm believer in change. Her sobriety, family, and friends were the order, and out of that those who truly knew her would walk the walk and everyone would agree. The two people who played an important factor in those steps are her husband of 23yrs James Ruffle Williams and her sponsor of 24 years Bethanne Murray. Linda had no favorites, but she would say “I just get along with you better.”
Linda is cherished and survived by her better half of 50ys and husband of 23yrs James E Williams (James “Jim Jim” Ruffle). Sons Roy L Johnson, Carlos M Johnson, Sr. (Antionette) James E Williams Jr., Kenneth Coates, Eric D (Lashon) Ballard, Robert L Patterson, and Jermaine S Willis Fredrick "Bam" Pettigrew. Godsons Robert L Suggs (Lil Robert), and Alvin Graves. Bonus daughters Nikki Bobo, Rocheal Smith, Quenetta (Jamie) Parker, Tasha (Bruno) Nemon, Latoya Grant, and Tanquera Coates. Grandchildren LaRoy, Cortez, Abdul, Carlos Jr., Khi, Tanisha, Taishah, Candy, Desiah, Chardonae, Kira, Mykal, Toryia, Marcus, Ta’Nasia, Aian, Whitney, Kaleigh, Kenneth Jr., and Legacy. Sisters Janet Johnson, Sheila Brown, Roshonda Lewis, and Tammi Greer. Sobriety friend and sister Bethanne Murray, brother Tony Johnson, bonus brothers Larry, and George Brooks. Extended family Fay, Othella, Charlene, and the rest of the Harris family.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Marjorie Johnson grandparents Ervin and Ruthetta Brooks Johnson, grandson Eric D Ballard Jr, and Davontae D Fisher, mother-in-law Shirlene (Madear) Williams, aunt Shirley Fields, and Cousin Beverly Fields.
