LeAndrew "Butch" Walton Obituary

LeAndrew (Butch) Walton was born on October 25, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Christen Lacey Walton and Marion (MT) Walton.  He was the second child born to this union.

LeAndrew grew up in Chicago, Illinois where he attended Chicago Area Schools, graduating from Crane High School in 1966.  After high school, Butch served in the United States Army from 1967-1969 and then the Army Reserves from 1969-1971.

He accepted Christ at an early age at Morning Star Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois.  Butch traveled around before moving to Benton Harbor, Michigan and became a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where he sung in the choir and the male chorus.

Butch was joined in holy matrimony to Silvia Henry, December 28, 2009.

He loved listening to oldie but goodies music, playing cassette tapes, skating, singing, reading books, watching Family Feud and going to Goodwill.

Butch was known for being well-dressed, everything had to match. His last known job was at Family Funeral Home.

On Saturday, March 28, 2020, Butch transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home.

He leaves to cherish precious memories in the hearts of his wife of 11 years Silvia Henry-Walton, three daughters, Sade (Deon) Kelly, Latoya (Devin) Jackson and Shikita Carr all of Illinois; three sisters, Reece (Ralph) Bell, of Minneapolis, MN, Alma Hawkins and Cookie (Luis) Walton-Garcia, both of Sacramento, CA; four brothers, Rufus (Cynthia) Walton Sr, of Sacramento, CA, David Walton and Michael Walton of Las Vegas, NV and Maurice Walton of Mesa, AZ; Brother in Laws, Jerry Powell, Michael (Debby) Byers, Sister In Law Reah (Troy) Stevens;  a very special nephew, Myron Stubbs (Boogie); 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, three step-children, Latonya (Richard) Denton, Roger Henry and Lesia (Fabresico) Osler, all of Benton Harbor and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
