Lavell Darnell Williams

Lavell Darnell Williams was born September 27, 1967, in Benton Harbor, MI, the son of the late Marcella Mosley and Arthur Mosley.

Lavell was a cool, calm, and collective guy. He was always attentive and observant of others.  Lavell had a unique gift of showing love and often shared his passion of connecting family members together.  To know Lavell, you’ve met genuine love as he often spoke just what was on his heart.

Lavell was a proud graduate of Benton Harbor High School.  He continued his educational journey at Lake Michigan College, earning a Certified Culinary Arts Certificate.

Our beloved father, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin, and friend, Lavell Darnell Williams at the age of 56 departed this life on December 30, 2023, in Grand Rapids, MI.

Lavell leaves to cherish fond memories in the heart of his children Lavonte D. Williams, Lavell Williams Jr., Lanell Williams (the twins), Dondreal Jefferson, Demetrius Jefferson, and Felisha Jefferson; his maternal grandmother, Mozella Williams; his siblings, Jermaine Dual, Dalisha Mosley, Lanelle (Marvin) Parson, and Arthur Craig; his uncles, Leon “Uknow” Williams, Wardell Ray Williams Jr., Mansell Williams and Willie Askew; his aunts, Judy Williams and Deborah Fisher; his best buddy-cousins, Shereatha Williams and Elganel Williams; special friends, Chris, Greg, De’adro, and James “Hammer” and a host of grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. 

Lavell was preceded in death by his parents, Marcella Mosley and Arthur Mosley; and his stepfather, Allen Clabin; his maternal grandfather, Wardell Williams Sr. and his aunt Helena Askew.
