Larry Dean Main, beloved father, grandfather, and devoted drag car racer, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with kidney failure. He was 67 years old.
Born on October 29, 1957, in Benton Harbor, Larry spent his life doing what he loved most—building, buying, selling, and driving drag cars. His passion for racing never faded, and he remained active in the sport up until his final days.
Larry is survived by his son, Tony (Holly) Rodgers, and his 11 cherished grandchildren: Kyra, Andrea, Aiden, Johnny, Kiera, Mia, Nevaeh, Serenity, Aadi, Asher, and Royia. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Christopher; brothers Rob (Becky) Meek and John (Janet) Smith; along with many nieces, nephews, extended race family, and countless friends who will deeply miss him.
Larry’s life was fueled by speed, family, and the joy of friendship. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
