Larry Gibson Obituary

Larry Darnell Gibson, affectionately known as, Kneedeep, was born November 15, 1960, in Albany, Georgia, to the union of Annie Bishop and Linzie Gibson Sr. He was the oldest of Six children.

Larry moved to Benton Harbor, MI, at an early age and gave his life to Christ. He attended Benton Harbor area schools and became a well-known fixture in the community. Larry loved and excelled at basketball. His love of basketball led to him mentoring, coaching, and training young men and boys in area basketball leagues. Larry was employed by Dawson Manufacturing Company as an Environmental Services Technician and Machine Operator until 2012, when he and his wife Deborah relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana where he was employed by Metro Diner as the Primary Kitchen Trainer.

In his free time, Larry enjoyed the company of his family. Larry was crowned the “BBQ King” of the family. Larry found joy in spending time with his grandchildren at the pool, at sporting events, and around home dancing and just being the best “Paw Paw” ever.

Larry's signature call sign was “Deborah”, he boisterously and affectionately called on his Wife for just about everything. The pair enjoyed each other's company at the Jazz Kitchen, Festivals, The Casino, Family Gathering, and each other's Arms.
