Remembering
LaKeena Lynn Crawford
LaKeena Lynn Crawford passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, January 14, 2024, in the amazing, comforting care of the caring circle, Hanson Hospice.
Keena was born at Lakeland Hospital in St.Joseph Michigan to LaTanya Johnson of Benton Harbor, Michigan, and Kenneth Crawford of Michigan City, Indiana on June 8, 1980. She attended Benton Harbor Area Schools throughout her childhood and graduated from Benton Harbor High School with her diploma in 1998. Shortly after graduating, she attended Baker College in Muskegon Michigan where she obtained her Associates in Medical Assisting. Keena lived in Muskegon Michigan for a few years until she decided to move to Hopkins Minnesota where there were better job opportunities and very knowledgeable doctors. She lived in Minnesota for 5 years and decided to move back to Michigan, closer to family due to her rising health issues. Keena was very hardworking and determined and it took no time for her to find a job when she moved back. She started a few short weeks later at Stonegate Dermatology in St. Joseph Michigan, stayed there for a few years, and transitioned to Intercare Community Health Care Network in Benton Harbor Michigan.
Keena will be truly missed by her mother, LaTanya Johnson, sister LaToya (Tamon) Turner, brothers Kenny Johnson and Dexter Brown, aunts Linda Crawford and Shirley Johnson, uncles Alvin Johnson Sr., Vajin Johnson, Michael Johnson, and Gary Baskin. Her cousins Alvin (Shayna)Johnson Jr., JaVaughn Brown, Antoine Coleman, Jina Johnson, Orlando Johnson, Kenneitha Hubbard, Alisa Taylor, Alisha Taylor, Michael Cain, Chauncey Hubbard, Dontrell Stephens, Michael Ealey Jr., six nieces, five nephews: as well as numerous extended family and friends.
With open arms awaiting her in heaven is her father Kenneth Crawford, big brother Toshiro Johnson, grandmother Louise Crawford and Idella Johnson, grandfathers Ike Crawford and Alvin Johnson, and last but definitely not least her dog Goldie Brown.
