Kenneth R. Crowder, 74, of Benton Harbor died April 19, 2023, peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with cancer. He was born May 2, 1948, in Pontiac Michigan, the son of the late Charles (Bill) and Myrtle (Bright) Crowder. He received Christ at an early age and always maintained a spiritual relationship with his Lord and Savior. He graduated from Flint Southwestern High School in 1966 and Michigan State University in 1974 after a return from serving his country as a Marine in the Vietnam War. He spent much of his career in the restaurant industry, mostly as a chef but more recently working security at River Terrace Apartments. He was a proud Marine that loved his family and playing and watching sports, especially his Spartans and his red Ford Mustang.
Mr. Crowder leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Michelle; daughters, Cassondra Crowder of Baltimore, MD, Catrina Crowder of Flint, MI, Shallena (Jamein) Cunningham of Ithaca, NY; son, Kenny Crowder of Indianapolis, IN; 8 grandchildren; 5 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers in laws, 1 niece and 1 nephew; 1 aunt and a host of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin older sisters, Diane, and Deborah; brother Melvin; ex-wife, Beatrice Crowder; niece Deana Lewis, 5 uncles, and 3 aunts.
Mr. Crowder will have a visitation at Robbins Brothers Funeral Home from 11 am – 2 pm on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Funeral Service will be at 11 am Thursday, April 27th at Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, Flint MI with family hour beginning at 10:30 am.
