Johnnie Roy Williams

Johnnie Roy Williams, 63, died on Thursday, April 11th, 2024 in Benton Harbor, MI.  Mr. Williams was born in Poplar Bluff, Mo. to the late Mitchell Williams Sr. and Juanita Brooks Williams. Mr. Williams attended Poplar Bluff High School in Poplar Bluff, MO. and after graduation, he enlisted into the United States Army. 

Johnnie Roy loved spending time with his children, family and friends.  He loved playing Cards and fishing and he will be remembered for his jokes, smile and his laughter.

Mr. Williams is survived by his children: Jarian Gipson of Poplar Bluff, MO., Yasmin Viverette of Kalamazoo, MI., Stephanie Jordan of Benton Harbor, MI., Brian Grady of Dowagiac, MI., Maliah Hinton of Poplar Bluff, MO. and a stepdaughter, Mattie Hinton of Poplar Bluff, MO.; brothers, Roosevelt (Tanya) Williams of Poplar Bluff, MO., Ernest Williams of Benton Harbor, MI, and Kalvin Donnie Gran of Poplar Bluff, MO.; sisters, Carolyn Williams Miller of Toledo, Ohio, Teretha Williams of Benton Harbor, MI and Ruby Johnson of Poplar Bluff, MO; special friends: Tammy Gipson-with whom he had an “Everlasting Friendship”, Norman Stevens, Rory Tripp, Keith Jordan, Riley Raulston, Vilena Fay Warren and Ronnie Allen and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Johnnie Roy was proceeded in death by his parents: Mitchell Williams Sr. and Juanita Brooks Williams, a daughter: Shemika Jordan, siblings: Mitchell Williams, Jr., James Williams, Diann Williams, and Barbara Williams, God Brothers: Ronnie Eugene “Boo” Grant and Johnny Jones and a nephew: Devin H. Williams.
